Acrylic Painting

Join us each week. Bring your acrylics, pastels, almost any art medium (No oils, please)
We help each other in class and do our own thing.

Drawing And Watercolor Made Easy

Driftwood Sculpture

Learn to transform rough wood into a beautiful sculpture. Instructor has basic tools available for $15.00.

Maryellen will introduce you to the art of small space garden design.  All materials are provided and you will walk out with a unique dish garden or terrarium.  Come dig in the dirt with us!

Friday Afternoon at the Movies!  The Silver Cinema Project

Location: Bridge Room
Hosted by Scarecrow Video.  The goal of the Silver Cinema Project is to share our collection, one of the world's largest film archives with the elder community, via screenings and discussions.  The types of film that we tend to show are golden age Hollywood classics of the 40's and 50's.  Each screening is introduced by one of our movie experts, and informational fliers about each are available for viewers to take with them.

  • July 7: Now Voyager:  A frumpy spinster blossoms under therapy and becomes an elegant, independent woman.  Bette Davis, Paul Henreid, Claude Rains.
  • August 4: It Happened One Night: A spoiled heiress running away from her family is helped by a man who is actually a reporter in need of a story.  Clark Gable, Claudette Colbert, Walter Connolly.
  • September 1: Sunset Boulevard: A screenwriter is hired to rework a faded silent film star's script only to find himself developing a dangerous relationship.  William Holden, Gloria Swanson, Erich von Stroheim.
